Former Pakistani television star turned digital content creator, Arij Fatyma, has opened up about her struggle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Now living in the United States with her husband and two children, the Hasad, Aap Ke Liye, and Ishq Parast actress shared the emotional news with her followers through Instagram on Sunday evening.

Arij disclosed that a few months ago, she was diagnosed with choriocarcinoma, a highly aggressive cancer that develops from trophoblastic cells—cells responsible for forming the placenta during pregnancy. This condition typically arises after a molar pregnancy, a rare complication where abnormal tissue grows inside the uterus instead of a healthy pregnancy.

Speaking about her decision to go public with her diagnosis, Arij admitted she had been hesitant for months. “Not everyone who follows you truly feels your happiness, shares your sadness, or understands your pain. Sincerity is rare,” she wrote.

She expressed her relief and gratitude that her cancer was detected early. “Early diagnosis was a blessing. In most cases, it’s found too late. Choriocarcinoma spreads rapidly, so timing is everything,” she explained.

Highlighting how unusual her case is, Arij added, “Molar pregnancies are already uncommon, and in extremely rare situations, they can develop into choriocarcinoma—like mine did.”

The actress-turned-influencer called her recovery a “second life” and urged her followers to prioritize their health. She stressed the importance of regular medical checkups and early treatment instead of relying on self-medication. “If you notice any unusual symptoms, see a doctor immediately,” she advised.
