Imran Khan’s Bani Gala Property Sold in NAB Auction Over Al-Qadir Trust Case

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, authorities auctioned one of three properties allegedly transferred unlawfully to former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, as part of the ongoing ÂŁ190 million Al-Qadir Trust corruption case filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in December 2023.

In a verdict on January 17, 2025, an Islamabad accountability court found Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and several co-accused guilty of corruption. The court sentenced the PTI founder to 14 years in prison and Bushra Bibi to seven years. Soon after, NAB announced its decision to auction the seized assets.

Properties Listed for Auction

According to a public notice issued by Assistant Commissioner Secretariat Uzair Ali Khan, the auction covered:

  • 405 kanals of agricultural land in Mohra Noor (Bani Gala)

  • 16-kanal motel plot on Club Road

  • 248 kanals of farmland

Bidders were required to submit a Rs5 million pay order in favor of the NAB chairman. They were also permitted to inspect the properties in advance, with official details provided by the local patwari.

Auction Day Events

The auction was scheduled for 11:00 am, but the auction committee arrived at 5:39 pm. Eventually, the 405-kanal agricultural land in Mohra Noor, Bani Gala, was sold for Rs3.42 million per kanal.

PTI’s Response

Reacting to the sale, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that news of the alleged auction only emerged on the same day, calling it a “secretive action.” He claimed that the Bani Gala administration was unaware of the process.

He added that PTI’s legal team was investigating the matter and would share accurate details soon. In a later update, Raja clarified that NAB Reference No. 19/2023 — officially titled State vs Imran Khan and popularly known as the Al-Qadir Trust case — also names other accused who have been declared absconders and proclaimed offenders.
