Pakistan Cricket Board Launches Nationwide Trials for U-19 and Emerging Women Cricketers

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially released the schedule for its upcoming U-19 and Emerging women cricket trials, part of a two-week nationwide talent hunt starting this Thursday.

Female cricketers born on or after September 1, 2006 are eligible for the U-19 trials, with a minimum age requirement of 12 years, while there is no age restriction for Emerging players.

These trials aim to identify and nurture the next generation of Pakistan’s women cricketers. Selected U-19 players will receive professional coaching and development opportunities before competing in a four-team U-19 women’s tournament scheduled for September and October. Following the tournament, a Pakistan U-19 squad will be finalized to tour Bangladesh later this year.

Trial Dates and Locations:

  • Karachi (Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre): August 21

  • Lahore (LCCA Ground): August 25

  • Rawalpindi: August 26

  • Peshawar: August 27

  • Mardan & Quetta: August 28 (simultaneous trials)

  • Multan: September 2

  • Bahawalpur: September 3

The trials will be overseen by the National Women’s Selection Committee, featuring former Pakistan cricketer Batool Fatima and former Test cricketer Asad Shafiq, along with regional coaches assisting in each city.

Participants must bring valid age verification documents, including a B-Form, CNIC, or NADRA-issued Birth Certificate.

This nationwide initiative is a significant step by the PCB to strengthen the pipeline of talented women cricketers and provide them with a platform to excel on both national and international stages.
