PM Shehbaz Orders Fast-Track Completion of Islamabad IT Park

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to speed up work on the under-construction Technology Park in Islamabad, expressing concern over delays in the project’s progress.

During his Thursday visit to the site, the Prime Minister directed that construction be completed within the original deadline and in line with international quality benchmarks. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, he stressed that the facility must be equipped with world-class infrastructure and modern amenities to strengthen Pakistan’s position in the global tech industry.

“All departments involved should work round the clock to finish the Technology Park as soon as possible,” PM Shehbaz said, noting its potential to boost the IT sector, create thousands of jobs, and fuel national economic growth.

Briefing the Prime Minister, officials shared that the Technology Park will feature two basement levels, a ground floor, and nine additional floors. The state-of-the-art complex will house corporate offices, an incubation center, a business support hub, R&D labs, a Level-III data center, an auditorium, and parking for 1,200 vehicles.

Authorities emphasized that once operational, the Islamabad IT Park will open doors to significant employment opportunities for youth, improve Pakistan’s global competitiveness in information technology, drive sustainable economic development, and help bridge the country’s digital divide.
